After a 4 day search for a possible missing boater, Dunn County Sheriff's officials found that the owner was safe and sound this week.
Dunn County Sheriff Dennis Smith says he doesn't believe anyone is in the lake following the incident, but to be safe, there will still be periodic searches
"We're not necessarily going to go out and spend a lot of time on it. We're looking to find out an absolute that noboby is in the water," Smith said Tuesday.
Smith said he feels bad about the thousands of dollars in labor expended in the search, but it was the right thing to do, given the information they had.
"If it was your loved one that was in the water and had drowned or something, you would want us to do everything we could do to possibly find the person and get them out of the water," Smith said.
The boat was found overturned in Tainter Lake Thursday night. The boat's owner, Jacob Wyss, told deputies he left the boat tied up after fishing. Smith says it was about an hour and a half later the boat was reported upside down in the water.
