  • After just two seasons, Anderson Cooper's daytime talk show has been canceled.
  • Disney announced yesterday that they are buying Lucasfilms and that there will be a new Star Wars movie in theaters by 2015!
  • Production has been halted on several TV shows in New York, including "Gossip Girl," "Person of Interest," "Smash," "666 Park Avenue" and "Elementary" because of Sandy.
  • This is the first time the New York Stock Exchange has closed because of weather conditions for two days in a row since 1888.
  • Microsoft CEO Steve Balmer says that demand for Windows 8 has been greater than what they experienced for Windows 7.
  • Lil Wayne is out of the hospital, after he checked in over the weekend for a migraine and dehydration.
  • NBC has shelved comedian's Rainn Wilson's "The Office" spin-off.
  • The Octomom--Nadya Suleman -- has checked herself into rehab for a prescription drug problem, leaving her 14 kids without a mother for 30 straight days.
  • The new Cosmo with Taylor Swift on the cover also includes the headline, "Crazy for a Kennedy." That was SO last week.
  • Justin Bieber's latest tattoo is an owl on his left arm. That makes eight works of ink he's purchased.
  • Sherman Hemsley -- who we remember as George Jefferson -- died three months ago and is STILL not buried yet, as his family fights over where he should end up.
  • KNOCK-KNOCK _ It's National Knock-Knock Day. A day for kids of all ages to try out their best knock-knock jokes.
  • Because of season-ending injuries to four quarterbacks, the University of Maryland football team is converting a freshman linebacker into this week's starting quarterback. [Next in line for the job is a guy who answered a Craigslist ad.]
  • SMOKERS MISS WORK MORE OFTEN _ Smokers miss an average of two or three more days of work each year than non-smokers, according to a new analysis of 29 past studies. Based on that finding, absenteeism due to smoking costs employers billions each year.
  • WHAT'S WITH ALL THE MUSTACHES? _ Movember's coming. During November each year, the Movember campaign is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men's faces. With their Mo's, the men raise awareness and funds for men's health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives.
  • WACKY-BUT-TRUE: COUPLE STEALS SHOWER _ In England, a couple liked their hotel shower so much they decided to take it with them when they left. The pair had spent the night. After they checked out, staff found the shower unit was gone from the wall.
  • DISNEY BUYING LUCASFILM, MORE STAR WARS MOVIES PLANNED_ Disney is paying $4.05 billion to buy Lucasfilm Ltd., the production company behind Star Wars. It's also making a seventh movie in the Star Wars series called Episode 7, set for release in 2015, with plans to follow it with Episodes 8 and 9 and then one new movie every two or three years.
  • According to a CRAZY new survey, 28% of people are basing their financial future around either WINNING THE LOTTERY or getting a BIG INHERITANCE.  18% of people say they believe they'll win the lottery, which will pull them out of debt and make them rich.  Another 10% are banking on a big inheritance to secure their financial future.
  • On Sunday, an 18-year-old guy in California got drunk and broke into the WRONG APARTMENT.  Because it belonged to a 20-year-old woman who was out WINNING A KARATE TOURNAMENT.  And when she got home and found him inside, she used her karate skills to chop and kick him until he was outside.  He was arrested.
  • This week, police in Broward County, Florida arrested nine men for betting on and even FIXING pee-wee football games.  Seven of the nine men are COACHES of the teams.  They took bets on games involving kids anywhere from age five to 14, and sometimes fixed the games to maximize their profits.  They also took college and pro bets.  All nine are facing felony charges.
  • In 1944, a 15-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl fell in love . . . but were both sent to a Nazi prison camp in Budapest.  The boy managed to escape after his uncle and aunt bribed a guard . . . but he had to leave his girlfriend behind.  Nearly 70 years later, he was doing research on the camp survivors for a documentary, and found out that his girlfriend was still alive . . . lived in the same city he did in Australia . . . and the two have gotten back together. 
  • A jealous husband in Colombia set fire to his house when another guy whistled at his wife . . . and accidentally burned down 20 other houses on the street too.
  • According to experts, Wikipedia is pretty much complete?
