HOW WE WASTE BILLIONS EVERY YEAR- Stop wasting your money and buy generic like the smart kids do. A new study (Tilburg University in the Netherlands and the University of Chicago) found 9 times out of 10 doctors buy generic aspirin over the brand-names and the majority of professional chefs buy generic, store-brand sugar and baking powder over the brand name ingredients. The study found Americans waste $44 billion a year on name brands when store brands cost half the price.

RESTAURANT HIRES GIRLS TO WALK CRABS - A Chinese restaurant has been slammed after hiring teenage girls to walk live crabs on leaches to drum up business. Animal rights activists have criticized the Pirate King restaurant in China for the stunt which they said was cruel. The restaurant hired girls to walk crabs outside to promote its seafood menu items.

A new study has found that for the first time in history, men are cool with their wives being SMARTER than them.  Before 1990, couples where the women had more education were more likely to get divorced.  Now couples are more likely to get divorced when the man has more education . . . and the best bet for the marriage is if both people have the same level of education. 

CBS claims unreleased black box data from Malaysian Airlines flight 17 is consistent with reports that the plane was shot down by a missile. The plane's fuselage was hit by shrapnel from a missile

Terry Morgan's dog Charlie recently ate his $750 watch. The Londoner realized his Newfoundland downed the timepiece after he heard the alarm sounding inside his stomach. Terry says, “At first I thought he was lying on it. Only when I rolled him over did I realize it was inside him. The watch was set to go off at 10:55pm to remind me to call last orders. I rushed him to the vet for an emergency operation and was a bit ticked off because that would have cost me about $1,500. But when Charlie saw the anaesthetic needle he howled with fright and coughed the watch up. I’ve forgiven him. He’s always hiding my socks and anything else left lying around.”

Lynette Sampson recently called the Enid, Oklahoma police because her meth was laced. When cops arrived at her home, she said, "I'm glad you came'', and was hearing things and sweating profusely. Sampson showed cops where she stashes her meth. She was charged with possession.

Motorola and VivaLnk.com have created temporary tattoos that unlock smartphones. The tatts last five days and are sold in packs of 10 for $9.99. No passwords are required for the waterproof tatts. Motorola says the average person takes 2.3 seconds to unlock their phone and does this 39 times a day.

Passengers on a Sydney, Australia commuter train recently called the police after a masked man boarded with guns, grenades and swords strapped to his legs. Cops surrounded the man on a platform and questioned him. The weapons were fake. The man, Reuben Rose, was dressed as a superhero because he wanted to convince his co-workers to donate to a children's hospice.

LUCY SCORES $44 MILLION WEEKEND - The two big new releases, Scarlett Johansson's Lucy and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Hercules, were both hits this weekend. Lucy debuted with a $44 million take.
