NEW YORK'S OLDEST TAXI DRIVER DIES AT 94 _ Johnnie Footman has collected his last fare. Footman, the oldest cab driver in New York, died Tuesday at age 94. According to a New York Times' obit, Footman - better known as "Spider" - wore a spider pendant around his neck and a hat that said "Old Dude made of Achey Breaky Parts!" He would warn passengers that, due to his age, he was a slow driver, though he had an impeccable driving record.

 HAIR CUTTING ROOMMMATE ANGERS MAN _ A guy in Michigan told police he came home and saw his roommate doing something to his neighbor. The man got really ticked off and ordered the neighbor to go home. Then the man threatened his roommate with a knife and hit him in the head with a beer can. What was the roommate doing to the neighbor? Cutting his hair.

Florida is currently overrun with angry, herpes-infested monkeys.  Back in 1939, some rhesus monkeys were brought to an island off the Atlantic coast.  But now there are 1,000 of them, and they've learned to SWIM.  The monkeys almost all have herpes-B, which can be DEADLY in humans, so wildlife officials are frantically trying to round them all up. 

A car full of CLOWNS got into an accident in Pennsylvania last week . . . although fortunately there were only four clowns in the car, instead of the usual 25 to 30.  The driver was an 83-year-old clown named Dimples who hit another car trying to make a U-turn.  He suffered a minor bump on the head . . . no one else was injured.

Milwaukee is researching a plan to stop covering their roads with rock salt in the winter . . . and use CHEESE BRINE instead.  Cheese brine is the waste left over in the cheese making process, and it's cheaper and better for the roads than rock salt.  The only problem is . . . it has a nasty cheese smell. 

TV TONIGHT: SEASON PREMIERE: DANCING WITH THE STARS _ Season 17 kicks off (7p CT, ABC) with a new cast and a new format. And it airs just one day a week.

INSIDIOUS 2 WINS BOX OFFICE _ In fitting news for the weekend of Friday the 13th, low-budget horror sequel Insidious: Chapter 2 frightened the box office with a $41 million opening -- the second best September opening of all time. The weekend's only other opening, mob comedy The Family, came in a distant second with $14.5 million.
