Cora Quinn
Hi, I’m Cora, your next door neighbor! I originally hail from Menomonie, and although I now live in Eau Claire with my husband, you might find me anywhere in this area that we all call home-- the Chippewa Valley! The “House That Built Me” was a cute little country home with plenty of acres to roam. Our hobby farm was supplied with jersey cattle, coonhound dogs, and of course, far too many barn cats! I lived there with my mom, dad, and little brother. After graduating from high school, I went to college at UW- River Falls, but after a semester I decided I needed a little more adventure in my life… how does one do that? Join the Army! After Basic Training, I was a Broadcast Journalist and my line of work was radio and TV production. I was a one-woman show! I put my journalism skills to use while stationed in Alaska and deployed to Afghanistan (where I was a little more Private Benjamin and a little less G.I. Jane). You can take the girl out of the country, but you can‘t take the country out of the girl! So after the Army, I returned to WISCONSIN! It was great to be back in my favorite place in the whole world. I finished my college education at UWRF, and got my degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Broadcast Journalism. Now I’ve settled in and made my home the Chippewa Valley. I don’t think I’ll be signing up for any more adventures across the globe. That might have been a little too much excitement for this small-town girl! Currently, I help mold the youth of America as a fourth grade teacher. I also teach weight-lifting classes and hope someday to win a wrestling match against my brother -- or maybe just outdo him in a hay bale throwing contest! I even moonlight at the mall. You just never know where you’ll find me!But mostly, I like to keep it country by chillin’ on a dirt road, “Fishin‘ in the Dark,” hunting the elusive “Turdy Point Buck,” hiking, reading, watching dirt-track racing, going to the cabin, and of course, listening and line dancing to country music!Call me cheesy, but it has always been a childhood dream of mine to co-host a morning show. I guess I truly am a “cheesehead” at heart!
